Broad How has been providing unforgettable getaways for large groups for 20 years with a high percentage of returning customers. Special occasions, family get-togethers, friends re-uniting, groups of fell-walkers . . . whatever the make-up of your party, or reason for your holiday, we feel confident that we can accommodate you in style. The house has 7 bedrooms, 3 bath/shower rooms, 3 sitting rooms (with 8 sofas), and a huge kitchen with a 16-seater table. It’s surprisingly cosy for such a large house - centrally heated and double-glazed, there’s an amazing open fire (with a window over the mantelpiece) and an unlimited supply of wood and coal. It has all the facilities you would expect from a 4-star property, plus a few you might not . . . luxurious Egyptian Cotton sheets, FreeSat, Blu-Ray, PS2, a range of toys and games for all ages, hundreds of books, maps and guides, a full-sized pool table and 2 pianos! Free wi-fi internet access and phone calls to other landlines are also included. The garden’s not bad either! There is an acre of garden with lawns, shrubs, chairs, benches, swings and a play area for younger children. So, if you’re looking for somewhere special . . .  somewhere you can enjoy with family and friends . . . a place where you can kick back, unwind and relax, in a picture perfect setting

. . . this superbly equipped, charming Lakeland house might just be your ideal location.

Broad How is ideally situated in Patterdale at Southern end of Ullswater. The house sits at the foot of Place Fell with unobstructed views up and down the valley and across towards the village and Helvellyn. It is idyllic and peaceful without being remote. The market town of Penrith and the M6 (J 40) are just 15 miles away. But once you are here, everything that you need is close at hand. Patterdale, with its excellent Village Store & Post Office, pub and hotel, is just 400m from the door. Glenridding (a mile away), is close, but not too close! It is well set up for visitors with a Tourist Information Centre, shops, pubs, bars, restaurants and garage/petrol station. Boat and canoe hire, sailing, rowing and fishing are also all available here, as well as the famous Ullswater steamers. Famous fellwalker and guide-writer, Alfred Wainwright also reckoned that this is a special place, even comparing the dale to paradise! In fact, there are 50 'Wainwrights' within 5 miles of the front door. Broad How even has a Wordsworth connection.

Broad How is a superbly equipped, spacious, seven-bedroom house, offering comfortable self-catering accommodation for 14+ in the most stunning location in Patterdale at the head of Ullswater - the loveliest of all the English lakes
